Eating dietary fiber, found mainly in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes is associated with reduced risk for heart disease, stroke, hypertension, some gastrointestinal diseases, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. On Saturday January 13, 2024, from 10am-3pm DFOWW Incorporated will host, The Importance of Good Nutrition Part 3 Fiber, Fruits, and Vegetables Adults and Youth Workshop, at our new location, Switzer Library.
Participants will discover the various types of fiber and learn why fiber is a necessary part of our diet. In addition, attendees will learn the benefits of eating an array of fruits and vegetables. We will also be serving free catered lunch. Vegetarian meal options will be available. All kids 17 and under accompanying their parents or guardian eat free. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our main office at (678)977-9703. Spread the word and get ready for a day of fun learning and good food!
