The FRDC is excited to present its next edition of Fraser River Dialogues – Keeping the Legend Alive! on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:00pm!
The white sturgeon is the largest and longest-lived species of freshwater fish in North America. The ancient fish is at the top of the Fraser River food web, and one of the few year-round resident species of fish in the lower Fraser River. However, the population of white sturgeon in the lower Fraser River (downstream of Hell’s Gate) is a fraction of its historic levels.
The Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society (FRSCS) is dedicated to the recovery and protection of this prehistoric species. Sarah Schreier, Executive Director of the FRSCS, joins us to talk about the society’s work, conservation efforts and impacts, and what we can do to help the “Great White Sturgeon”.
