Rising Sun Kids in the Kitchen (ages 8-12)

Join for an introduction to a lifelong love of nutritious, fun, and healthy eating! Each class kids will create their own healthy recipes right from the comfort of their own home! Utilizing science, math, and language arts skills, kids will explore food groups, daily recommendations, vitamins, and minerals. Kids will learn the components of foods and how to make snacks and meals that are both healthy and delicious.
*Most recipes will involve needing to use a knife to cut ingredients. Parents must either supervise or be confident in their child's knife skills. Alternatively, parents can help kids cut up ingredients in advance and have prepared for class if they aren’t available to help their child put the recipe together.
*Some recipes require the use of a stove or an oven, so again, parent supervision or a parent or guardian nearby in case of an emergency is recommended.
**This class is recommended for slightly older kids who have a bit of experience in the kitchen. Kids are welcome to sign up in the 4-7 age group cooking classes if that’s where they would feel more comfortable.
