Sensory Science Hour | What’s happening in Atlanta

Sensory Science Hour

Join us for a low-sensory planetarium show and calmer exhibits, designed for guests who benefit from dimmed lighting, reduced volume, and a relaxed, low-capacity environment.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
This summer, we are introducing a Sensory Science Hour on Wednesdays in July from 9:00 AM–10:00 AM. This experience is designed to provide a calmer, more comfortable visit for guests who may benefit from a sensory-friendly environment.

During Sensory Science Hour, the planetarium show will include:
  • Dim lights left on to avoid complete darkness
  • Lower volume to reduce loud sounds
  • Relaxed house rules, so guests may move around, make noise, or take a break as needed
  • Limited capacity to help reduce crowding
